I had lunch with Mr. Naoyuki Maro, the owner and winemaker of Hokkaido MARO Wines at “Tavern on S” in Shinjuku.
I have a strange relationship with Mr. Mako and we have a long-time relationship.
At first, we forgot to order food, the wine discussion starts as soon as we meet, and we exchange various meaningful information.
Before I knew it, we had been talking about wine for more than two hours.

Belles du Sud Chardonnay 2022 1,080 yen
It’s the usual Languedoc Chardonnay, but today’s bottle is a 2022 back vintage.
Compared to the 2024 sample I drank the other day, it has a thick and mellow taste like nectar.
The fresh and pure fruit flavor is still alive and well.
It’s delicious.
It also goes well with saury. It also took well the bitterness of the saury’s organ.
