Chase the Grape Albarino 2023  5,000 yen New arrival

The fifth vintage of “The traveling winemaker” Dai Naito is an Albarino produced at Cave d’ Occhi in Niigata.

The grapes were harvested from a contract vineyards of Cave d’ Occhi in Sagae City, Yamagata.

Mr. Kakegawa, a winemaker at Cave d’ Occhi, is “chakly” gave Dai Naito ripe-fine grapes that he has carefully cultivated with contract farmers.

In fact, I visited the vineyards in Sagae last fall, and I saw the farmers carefully grew the grapes.

The following is a quote from Mr. Kakegawa.

“Albarino is a variety that the Niigata Wine Coast has high hopes for, but I think it is a very challenging cuvee that has a new charm.

The glass is a deep lemon yellow. You can also feel the smoky and sweet aroma of pears, golden rhinoceros, apricots, jasmine in the depths, and barrels. When you take it in your mouth, the rich fruits flavor spreads to the front. It has a long aftertaste, and it is a liquid that can be drunk smoothly even though it is mixed with the nuances of the barrel and complex elements are intertwined.

Of course, it is delicious to drink now, but I think it is a good idea to leave it for a few years to look forward to aging in the future. It is an Albarino that has a lot of potential, including long-term aging. “

Cave d’ Occhi ‘s Albarino is a very popular wine right now.

This Albarino from Chase the Grape is also quite delicious.
