No Wine Day
Feb. 16
This week has been a series of unexpected things that have happened, and it has been difficult, but today I have regained my composure a little.
Today’s dishes.
Marinated Hotaruika and Hassaku Orange
Strawberry, Prosciutto, Avocado and Broccoli Salad
Cream Doria with Seafood and Mushrooms
Doria, it’s been a long time.
After all, my doria is delicious!
Today, there is only one bottle of wine.
Joostenberg Fairhead 2018 2,150 yen
It is a natural wine from the Paarl region in South Africa.
It is made from 59% Roussanne, 30% Chenin Blanc, and 11% Viognier organically grown in the estate vineyards.
It is fermented with wild yeast in old oak barrels.
I’ve been addicted to this white wine lately.
It has the dignity, style, and taste of an expensive wine that costs more than 5,000 yen, which is hard to believe that it is a wine that costs about 2,000 yen.
All the flavors, such as fruitiness, acidity, and minerality, are balanced at a very high level, and there is no intrusiveness.
I also like the alcohol content of 12%, which is low for a South African wine.
Oh, it’s really delicious! Excellent!
It was also perfect for my Doria’s cream sauce.
