A sense of feast

Feb. 14

It’s Valentine’s Day.

The last time I received a chocolate gift was a long time ago.

I don’t remember when it was.

Today, I cooked Unagi Steamed Rice.

This dish is also useful because it requires little effort and has a sense of feast.

Wash the eel you bought at the supermarket with water to remove the sticky sauce and steam it in wine in a frying pan.

I made a sauce, which is made from soy sauce, mirin, red wine, honey.

I prepared rice with bonito broth and ginger.

The steamed eel is grilled with homemade sauce, placed on top of cooked rice, and steamed for about 15 minutes.

Put oba, myoga, green onions, trefoils, and yuzu as condiments, serve them on a plate, and you’re done.

It’s delicious.

Today, there is only one bottle of wine.

Marquis de Bolin Pinot Noir 2022  1,200 yen

It is made from 100% Pinot Noir from Languedoc.

It is a cool, elegant Pinot Noir that does not seem to be a wine from a high-temperature region.

I felt red fruits flavor reminiscent of strawberries, clean acidity, and smooth mouthfeel.

It has a light touch, but it also has a firm drink.

I think it’s a good Pinot Noir.

It was also perfect for eels.

Oh! yes, yes. I also had Bonito and Hotaruika sashimi before the Unagi Rice.

The bonito was from Miyazaki, and it was the first bonito in this season!
