Furano Wine

Feb. 19

The Olympic Game will be over soon.

The ordinary peaceful days will come back soon…

The dinner today was “Izakaya Menu”.

Izakaya is a traditional Japanese casual restaurant.

1st Barrel Furano 2017  2400 yen

It is made from Seibel and Kerner grown in Furano Hokkaido.

It was matured in French oak cask for 12 months.

At first, I felt dry cask flavor.

Gradually, rich-big-elegant fruits were coming up.

The taste is very unique but very well-balanced.

This white wine was very good for Izakaya dishes today.

2nd Chateau Furano 2018  3000 yen

It is made from 55% Furano #2, 18% Zweigelt, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot grown in the estate vineyards in Furano.

Furano #2 is a hybrid grape made by the winery using the grape variety of Seibel.

I felt some metallic nuance, rich fruits, solid acidity and silky tannin.

The taste was strong but very well-balanced.

The taste was very unique but cool and tasty, too.

I am sure again that Furano Wine produces only very good wine.
