Nov. 17
It was the third day in Hokkaido.
I visit to 10R Winery in Iwamizawa.
It snowed last week.
There were snow left at the winery.
I saw the new cellar, which was building when I came here last year.
I have a long-standing relationship with Mr. Bruce Gatlove, who is the owner & winemaker.
They have an abundant harvest in Hokkaido.
10R winery are producing wine with 95t grapes.
They are still producing wine now even though it is a middle November.
I am sorry that I visit here such busy day.
I tasted several top cuvee from the tanks.
Thank you so much!
Then I visited to two wineries in Iwamizawa with no appointment.
Nakazawa Vineyard
KONDO Vineyard
Greetings!
Then I moved to Chitose and visited to Hokkaido Chuo Winery.
I had a small meeting with Mr. Misawa, the president & winemaker.
We talked about the recent wine business in Japan.
After the visit, I had plenty of time for my flight from Shin-Chitose Airport.
I visited to Chitose Salmon Park.
I was surprised at seeing the old style salmon fishing there.
Many salmons!!
At last, I had a nice sushi dinner at the sushi restraint in the airport.
I tasted a bottles of Hokkaido Kerner.
It was very good for sushi.
I also tasted a half bottle of Yamasachi, which is a hybrid grape in Hokkaido, at the departure lobby.
I had many, many tremendously delicious foods and very good wines in this trip.
Thank you very much!
