Shimora Koshu & Kizan 2005

Mar. 28

The government requested us to keep staying home from today.

I cooked dinner.

Sashimi

Roast Chicken with Potato Gratin

Very good!

1st Shimora Koshu 2015

It is made by Mr. Phillip Moraghan, who is a famous winemaker in Victoria Austraklia, and Rika, the wife of Philip, from 100% Koshu grown in Katsunuma Japan.

Because Rika used to work Katsunuma Winery, they produced Koshu wine every year recently.

I felt very elegant aroma, rich fruits and tender minerals.

The taste is very deep even though the alcohol degree is only 9.1%.

It is very tasty.

I want to try to taste other vintages.

2nd Kizan Red 2005

It is an old vintage Kizan red wine made from 100% Black Queen.

I felt fresh red fruits even though it had a 16 years-maturing.

I couldn’t find any old wine nuance.

Also I couldn’t find and wild touch that Black Queen often has.

The style is similar to some very good Barbera in Italy.

I was amazed at the long mature potential of this grape variety.

Great! Great!
