No Wine Day
Mar. 20
It’s the middle day of the Higan.
There is a saying that “heat and cold are all the way to the other side”, but today was a cold day with cold rain.
Today’s dish
Bonito Sashimi

Salmon, Firefly-squid, Strawberries, Mozzarella, Broccoli, Cherry-tomatoes, Kiwi and Apple Salad

Yuyume-beef Thigh Steak with Potato-gratin

They were delicious as well.

Today’s Wine

Bernhard Koch Regent Petit Chie 2023 2,190 yen
I bought it on the recommendation of the Wine Sake Shop Todaya in Itabashi.
It was a German red wine and grape variety was Regent.
Oh, Regent? It’s a PIWI variety that is a hot topic right now.
It seems to be attracting attention as a hybrid variety that is resistant to the gabi fungus that makes grapes sick.
I drink it for the first time.
I have a little resistance to new hybrid varieties.
Because I have a preconceived notion that it’s kind of metallic.
I tried to taste it…
Wow! Wow! Wow!
What is this deliciousness?
I felt the loveliness that betrays the intensity of the color.
I also felt the heavy structure, but the flavor was seamless and elegant.
There is probably almost no residual sugar, but the flavor is very sweet.
I thaught about whether there was a similar wine..
Oh! it is Nerello Mascalese that I drank in Sicily.
Wow! it’s delicious, it’s delicious.
It was perfect for bonito sashimi, salmon and strawberry salad, and beef steak.
I felt familiar with the PIWI variety and said, “Today is my PIWI anniversary”.
