After attending a meeting at Yokohama Relax, I had a private dinner with my old colleague Martin Romeijn when we worked in Yamaya at The Rigoletto Ocean Club at the north exit of Yokohama Station.

We have a long relationship with Martin for more than 30 years, but I still don’t know which is the first name Romeijn or Martin.

This wine bar is also one of my favorite restaurants.

All the foods are very delicious.

I chose wine from “the 3,800 yen Wine List” at this restaurant.
It can be difficult to find a wine that you can drink on this kind of list, but the wine list here is excellent.
All the wines I want to try.

The first bottle is Australian sparkling wine. De Bortoli is delicious.

The second bottle is a blend of Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Merlot from Umbria.

It has a rich and solid style, but it has a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. We drank it quickly. It was a perfect marriage between pasta full of truffles.

So, after all, we went to the third one.

It is a blend of Carignan and Monica from Sardinia. This red is also very delicious.
I felt a clean acidity and coolness reminiscent of Burgundy. It also went great with cheese.

How many years has it been since we drank wine together? I can’t remember.
We both got older. But when I talk about wine, old stories, and stupid stories.
I felt like I was going back to when I had been in my early 30s when I met Martin.

Yes, it was fun.
Let’s do our best!
