Jan. 25
I participated in the unveiling of the new cellar of Kuratei Winery, which was completed this month.

Kuratei Winery is a vineyard and cellar located in Okagami, Kawasaki City.
It is a 15-minute walk from my house and is the smallest garage winery in Japan as far as I know.Since it is a local winery, I support it as a supporter.

It is overwhelmingly larger than conventional sellers, but it is still the smallest size in Japan.

However, considering its dignified appearance, workability, and environmental impact, the gravity system is fine. It’s well thought out.

A commemorative photo with the owner, grower & winemaker Mitsugu Yamada.

The cellar construction was handled by Minoshima Construction in Ashigara, Oimachi.
They are a well-known local palace carpenter.
One beam and one wall are made with great care.

Today’s invited guests are mainly students from the wine school of Kuratei Winery.

The main event is mochi throwing by Minoshima Construction craftsmen.
Children who visit with their families are delighted.

I am very much looking forward to the new challenges of Kuratei Winery in the future.

I bought a 2023 Pinot Noir at the shop and went home.
Today’s dinner is Temaki-sushi.
Maguro, Madai, Suzuki, Swordfish, Aji, Norwegian Salmon, Seared Scallops, steamed Shrimp, tuna-mayo

Perhaps because the sea was rough due to the cold wave, there were few types of sashimi in the fresh fish section, but I managed to get a good stuff.
Today’s Wine

Kuratei Winery Pinot Noir Unwooded 2023 4,500 yen
I bought it at the winery store today.
It is made with 100% Pinot Noir grown the estate vineyard in Okagami.
For a Japan Pinot Noir, it has a rich color and a gentle and lovely red fruits flavor that spreads on the palate.
I also felt mild astringency and pleasant acidity. I think the moist flavor of grapes and the delicate mouthfeel are unique to Japan’s Pinot Noir.
It’s a strange feeling to be able to make such a wonderful Pinot Noir within walking distance of my home.
Okay, Mr. Yamada. I was reminded once again that you are not just a man of words.

Tonight, I was actually watching the NHK documentary Romanée Conti that I had recorded earlier while enjoying Temaki-sushi and Kuratei Pinot Noir.
Armand Rousseau’s Chambertin is added to the curry.
A lot of people come out to know.
More and more, the strange feeling grew.
