Aug. 3
I end up watching the Olympics until late.
Lack of sleep.
Today’s Dish
Edamame
Scallops Carpaccio
Cherry Tomato and Mozzarella Salad
Yakitori
After that, I ate the leftovers.
1st Pangolin Sauvignon Blanc 2023 1,200 yen
This South African Sauvignon Blanc is my recent favorite.
I felt crisp and refreshing fruits flavor and sharp minerality.
Tasty!
2nd Joostenberg Bakermat 2017 2,500 yen
It is a high-class cuvee from the prestigious South African Paarl winery “Joostenberg”.
The owner of the winery, Tyrrell Meiberg, is also a winemaker of Pangolin.
It is made from 43% Syrah, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Mourvédre, organically grown in a single vineyard in the astate vineyard.
After natural fermentation with wild yeast, it undergoes 18 months of barrel aging.
Hmmm, it tastes like a very expensive wine.
I felt graceful fruit flavors and supple tannins that do not feel seams at all.
The gentle, noble and deep taste is superb.
After all, Tyrrell is a genius.
