Wine party at Nakano Monfa

Apr. 1

No Wine Day

Diary, resume.

Apr. 2

I joined in a wine party at Nakano Monfa.

The old staff from the Cave de Relax working era gathered.

For wine, we brought our own recommendations.

There was no prior meeting, but the first two bottles were rare wines of the 2022 vintage in Niki and Yoichi Hokkaido.

I drink both bottles of Le Reve Winery and Mongaku Valley Winery the first time in a long time.

The atmosphere of the bottle label is also very similar.

I felt a gentle, delicate, and plump mouthfeel.

The natural and rich fruitiness and the nuances of “Takahiko” peculiar to this production area are also common.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had Monfa’s foods, but it’s still a lot of delicious dishes.

One bottle of wine was tasted by a blind tasting.

This is the giant wine of Nagano Togo.

Of course, no one guessed.

My selection is Prophet’s Rock’s Pinot Noir Au Antipode 2018.

Former head winemaker Francois Miet of “Comte Georges de Vogue” collaborates with New Zealand winemakers.

I was also conscious of the fact that Mr. Okoshi, the owner and chef of Monfa, is a fan of Vogue.

(Mr. Francois Miet, who Mr. Okoshi photographed at the winery in Vogue, is young!) )

As expected, the top-class Pinot Noir is different.

Everyone was mesmerized.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Monfa, and I met my old friends for the first time in a long time, and I had a good wine, good food, and a pleasant conversation.

After all, the connection of wine is wonderful!

Thank you all!

Let’s get together again!!
