Unagi Gohan ‘ Steamed Rice with Grilled Eel’

 

 

 

Very delicious!

 

 

 

1st Turckheim Sylvarner 2019  1620 yen

It is made from 100% Sylvarner grown in Alsace.

I felt good fruits and elegant acidity.

The style is very pure and natural.

Sylvarner often become a simple taste wine but this one has many nice characters.

It was very good for both sashimi and Unagi Gohan.

 

 

2nd Marquis de Beau Rond Syrah 2020  930 yen

It is made from 100% Syrah grown in Languedoc.

While I am eating unagi, I wanted to taste some full-bodied red wine.

Then I chose this one.

I felt concentrated fruits, nice tannin and good acidity.

The color and taste was dark but the mouthfeel was elegant.

I didn’t feel any off-flavor.

It was very good for Unagi Gohan.
