Sommelier #180 was published.
There was the serial in fifth installments titled “Naito Kunio Wine Business in Full Charge”.
It is the final installment.
Thank you very much!
1st Kobe Wine Chardonnay Non-Filtered 2020 2640 yen
I bought this one at the winery in this week.
It is made from 100% Chardonnay grown in Kobe.
There are a lot of tartars at the bottom due to a non-filtered method.
They are beautiful.
I felt very fresh aroma, natural fruits, brilliant citrus and fine minerals.
The taste is very pure and natural.
It was produced only 500 bottles.
Why didn’t they produce such fine Chardonnay wine?
Is the complaint from the consumer about the tartar so difficult?
2nd Book Road Fuji no Yume 1604-34 3190 yen
Book Road is an urban-type winery located in Tokyo.
They started their wine making in 2017.
Fuji no Yume is a hybrid grape variety born from Merlot and Yamabudo, which is Japan’s wild grape variety.
It was the first time I had tasted Fuji no Yume.
“Well… Oh! It is tasty!”
I felt very dense black fruits like a prune or dark cherry, mild acidity, silky tannin and comfortable mouthfeel.
Yamabudo has a strong acidity but Fuji no Yume doesn’t has such strong taste.
It is a very charming red wine.
They say Fuji no Yume has tolerance for disease and rainfall.
I expect a good potential of this grape.
