Jul. 29
It was the third day in Hokkaido.

We went to Yoichi in the morning.

The first visit was Domaine Takahiko.
The winery and vineyard is started six years ago.
Now, Domaine Takahiko has become one of the most popular “Boutique” wineries in Japan.

At first, we were guided by Mr. Takahiko Soga to his single vineyard controlled by organic method.
The vineyards we visited yesterday had a disease problem but here seemed to be no problem.
The Pinot Noir vineyard has expanded to 2.5 hectare.

The vineyard is very well organized.
Beautiful!

Then we returned to the cellar and tried to taste his vintage 2014 form the casks.

They were so nice.
I loved Blanc de Noir with very sweet aroma.
The pinot noir had a outstanding elegance with some big power.

We also tasted Pinot Noir Nanatsumori 2013, which is one of the most difficult to find now.
That’s outstanding!

Thank you very much, Takahiko.
I am looking forward to receiving your new vintage.
Please give me some more allocations as much as possible.

Then we looked around many vineyards in Yoichi by driving a car.

Then we arrived at Kimura Vineyard.
Tadashi-san and his son Koji-san welcomed us.

We were guided by Kimura-san to his vineyard.

Kimura-san has been changing grape vines to Pinot Noir.
Now, he has five hectare Pinot Noir in his total 10 hectare vineyard.

It is very surprise that only two persons, Pere & Fils, manage the vineyard perfectly.

It is a really well organizes, well controlled, beautiful vineyard.
All vines have a lot of clusters more than other vineyards we visited in this tour.

I had to take a flight tonight to Tokyo.
While I waited for the train to the airport, I went to Nikka Distillery at the front of the station.

It was a very busy trip.
I had a very deep, dense and impressive experiences in this trip.
I think the big wine movements will be happen in Hokkaido in the near future.

Thank you very much!
