Feb. 25
It was the second day in Hokkaido.
I took a local train and went to Yoichi with Mr. Fujii, who is the owner of Wine Shop Fujii in Sapporo.
It snowed heavily.
We arrived at Yoichi station and went to the city hall in Yoichi.
They had a big wine event, “The 24th Wine Festival in Yoichi”.
The many local grape growers had organized the event in order to educate a wine life for local people 24 years ago, when they started wine making there.
The event has been getting popular by year and year.
It has become very popular event recently.
It was the first time that I had joined in the event.
I was surprised at seeing so many participants there.
I visited at many wine booths hard and saw a lot of wine makers, grape growers and wine professionals.
Mr. Misawa & Mr. Aoki in Hokkaido Chuo Winery and Mr. Kimura ”Pere & Fils” in Kimura Vineyards.
Mr. Shimanura in Hokkaido Wine, Mr. Gadlove in 10R Wine and Ms. Ishii, a famous wine writer.
Mr. Shibata in Coco Farm and winery.
Mr. Abe and Mr. Watanabe, who are wine PR staff in Hokkaido government.
Mr. Nakane in Wine Shop Nakane in Yoichi and Mr. Suzuki in Domaine Atsushi Suzuki.
Mr. Soga and his friends in Domaine Takahiko.
It was a very hot wine event in the snow town.
Every hosts and guests enjoyed the event very much.
After the big event, I joined to some second party organized by local wine professionals at a local sushi restaurant.
We kept drinking local wine a lot.
Then the party was heating up and breaking up!
I brought the two cuvee of Muscadet, too.
Oh! I found Mr. Fujisawa in Fujisawa Vineyards, one of the top Vineyards in Yoichi.
After the second party, we went to the third party at a Karaoke night spot and kept drinking local wine.
We sang, sang and sang.
Finally, I forgot where I was, why I was here, who I was.
DOBON! Perfectly DOBON!
Fortunately, I found I was still alive at the hotel tonight.
