No Wine Day
Dec. 21
My son and his wife came from Osaka with their son, who is 1 year and 4 months old.

It’s lively when I received a grandson.

With grandson power, Tomoko who has an incurable disease seems to be happy.

Today’s dinner is Kiritanpo hot pot.

Everyone gathers around the pot and it is lively.

My grandson and son are planning to stay until Christmas.
This Christmas, it looks like it’s going to be lively.
Today’s Wine

1st Chase the Grape Field Blend 2021 2,800 yen
It is a third vintage of Chase the Grape made by my son.
This is a blend of Koshu and Muscat Bailey-A harvested in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
As it ages, the pale red color derived from the peel becomes darker, giving the taste a sense of volume.
Now might be the most delicious.
This was perfect for Kiritanpo hot pot.
2nd Kirinoka Ono Rouge 2024
Kirinoka Vineyards & Winery is a new winery opened by winemaker Minoru Numata in Ono, Shinshu.
My encounter with Mr. Numata dates back to 26 years ago.
On January 30, 1999, the first day of the opening of Cave de Relax, which I founded, Mr. Numata was the first person in the red jacket to line up.

He has been winemaking and consulting in various wine regions, including New Zealand, and finally set up his own winery. It’s amazing.
This wine is made with Pinot Noir harvested from the estate vineyard.
In fact, the Pinot Noir from his vineyard in 2024 was devastated by the late frost that occurred on May 10th, and it is said to be a valuable cuvee made from grapes that were only a few harvests.
That’s what the label says “The cry of Pinot”.
Well, this is delicious.
Behind the light taste, there is a solid elegance unique to Pinot Noir.
I found a beautiful fruits flavor, acidity, and pleasant astringency that you might inadvertently miss.
The aftertaste also lasts for a long time.
There may be pros and cons, but I think this is a very good Pinot Noir.
Do your best, Mr. Numata. I’m cheering for you.
