No Wine Day
Sep. 13
It’s a three-day holiday from today.
There are no days off for my housework and nursing care.
Well, even when I was working at a wine shop, I couldn’t take a break from consecutive holidays.
Today’s dish
Edamame
Leaf Ginger and Cucumber
Bonito Sashimi
Rice cooked with Eel
The eel is thoroughly washed under running water to remove the original sauce, steamed in wine, and then boiled in homemade sauce.
The homemade sauce is 60ml of red wine, 20ml of soy sauce, 20ml of mirin, 1 tablespoon of honey, and a little balsamic.
The bite-sized pieces of eel is put on the rice, which cooked with ginger, sauce and broth, and steamed.
This is really delicious.
I don’t think it’s an eel I bought at the supermarket.
Today’s Wine
あ
Estezargues Bio Cote du Rhone Rouge 2022 1,850 yen
It is a super long-selling Relax Wine.
We have continued to import from the 2001 vintage of this one.
More than 20 years have already passed.
Since it is an unfiltered wine with no added sulfites, there were many things at the beginning of importation, such as a strong reducing odor, or few centimeters of duck accumulating at the bottom of the bottle.
It’s completely fine now. It is full of gentle grape flavor unique to a stable sulfite-free natural wine.
The beautiful acidity that doesn’t look like the red of the Rhone is also good.
It was perfect for bonito sashimi and eel cooked rice.
