Chardonnay from Languedoc Limoux

Mar. 12

It’s a cold day with cold rain falling continuously.

Today I went to the city center for a business meeting. The hand holding the umbrella was cold.

For dinner, I had a lot of leftover ingredients from yesterday’s Temaki-sushi and vinegared rice, so today I had a Temaki-sushi again.

I call this the second stage of Temaki-sushi.

That’s a little unsatisfying, so I made a salad.

Chambon Sec, Mozzarella, Egg, Broccoli, Avocado, Strawberry, Apple, Pineapple

The salad with a lot of ingredients was satisfying.

Sieur d’Arques Toques & Clochers Limoux Chardonnay 2020 2,800 yen

It is a Chardonnay from Languedoc Limoux that I pulled out of the cellar because I wanted to drink a fine wine.

Limoux is famous for its sparkling wines, but recently you can often see Chardonnay and Pinot Noir still wines that take advantage of the cool climate at high altitudes.

And this one is really delicious.

I felt a thick and mellow body, and elegant acidity and minerality that enhance the dense fruitiness.

It is reminiscent of the high-quality Pouilly Fuisse or Saint-Véran, which are Burgundy in the south.

It’s great. It’s a very good wine.

Burgundy, a wine with this balanced dignity, is likely to cost twice or even three times as much.

I bought it at the end of the year on the recommendation of wine shop “Everyday” in Mitaka.

The importer is Iida from Osaka. Very good!
