1st Joostenberg Chenin Blanc 2021 1450 yen
It is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown in the estate vineyards in Paarl, South Africa by organic method.
The vines age are from 4 yeas to 39 years old.
The grapes were picked up by hand and fermented by the wild yeasts.
I felt very comfortable minerals, very rich fruits and pure acidity.
I showed this one at Marubishi Food Show last month and got very good reputations.
It is a really tasty white wine.
2nd Joostenberg Myburgh Bros. Cinsault 2020 1650 yen
It is made rom 100% Cinsault grown in the estate vineyards by organic method, too.
The grapes are from the old vines and fermented by wild yeasts without sulfur.
The grapes are macerated in five days and matured in the old oak cusks in nine months.
I felt very pure red fruits and comfortable acidity.
You may suppose that the red wine in South Africa is dark and heavy.
But this one is very light and charming.
Recently, young wineries often produce such elegant style red wine.
You can feel the new trend of red wine in South Africa when you taste this one, I think.
