The New Vintage

Jan. 27

I don’t have any entertainment because of the state emergency.

Then I often open some more expensive wines than usual.

1st La Croix Gratiot Pucpoul de Pinet 2019  1580 yen + tax

The vintage of this Languedoc white wine has changed to 2019.

It is one of my most favorite wines.

It is made from 100% Picpoul de Pinet grown in the estate vineyards in Languedoc.

Because the winery is small and very popular, all of their wine sells so fast.

My allocation from the winery is only once in the year.

I started importing this wine from 2015 vintage.

Then it is the fifth arrivals.

Well, this new vintage is outstandingly nice.

I love this flowery aroma, very pure fruits, truly clean citrus and super fine minerals.

I felt a nuance of very expensive wine but the price is only 1580 yen.

What a wonderful white wine is this!!

2nd La Croix Gratiot Le Chant des Dolia Rouge 2017  4,200 yen

This red wine is the top cuvee of the winery.

I tasted two top wines yesterday.

It is the third top cuvee in the two days.

It is made from Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache grown in the estate vineyards.

The part of wine was fermented and matured in Dolia, which is an old local pottery in Languedoc.

Well, it is a really special wine.

I felt very complex-deep fruits, especially silky tannin, and so comfortable-long after taste.

What a wonderful red wine is this!!
