Jun11 I had Temaki-sushi dinner tonight. I forgot to take pictures. 1st Pangolin Chardonnay 2004 850 yern I am sure this is a great daily Chardonnay. But I felt just bit too strong cask flavor at first when I started drinking this with Temaki-sushi. But the feeling disappeared very soon. The taste got better and better. I was sure again this was a great white wine. 2nd Gerard Mugneret Bourgogne Pinot Noir 1998 2100 yen As the vintage 1998 was very difficult, I had been concerned about the quality of this Burgundy red. But it was a really good mature Burgundy. Gerard Mugneret is a very small "Domaine" in Vosne Romanee, produced only around 2600 cases in ever year. I supposed this was made very carefully because the quality was really excellent even though such a bad vintage. Unfortunately, even very good quality, Temaki-sushi was not good with mature Pinot Noir. I made mistake to choose wine tonight. |
