4/8 (Diary 2)
After leaving Chateau Pesquie, I was going to visit Bezier, the town located in the
central Languedoc, by a train.
When the train arrived at a station 7 minutes behind schedule, I took off the train.
Then I found that I was at different station.
It was very difficult situation, because there are nothing announcement in the train,
and I could not see the small sign of the station name Agde from the train.
The station parson told me that I had to wait for 2 hours to take a next train, and
there are around 20km from here to the next station Bezier.
Then I took a taxi to the station 30 minutes behind the appointment time.
But the people, who was going to take me to the tour of Languedoc, came to the
station more 20 minutes behind my arrival.
It seemed there were something different time here around.
Then we went to Domaine Catan, which makes Tortoise Creek Premium and supply
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for blending of Tortoise Creek.
Mr. Andre Catan, owner & winemaker, is a absolutely a kind of the artisan, showed
me the vineyards and cellar.
The very well organized vineyards for Tortoise Creek Premium are operated by
natural grape making method "Lutte Raisonnee".
I was sure that Domaine Catan was a outstanding winery for its effort for quality
of wine.
Then I was showed a one of Tortoise Creek Vineyards of Syrah at Argeliers by
Mr.Xavier Roger,
winemaker of Tortoise Creek.
The vineyard was also very good organized one, had a lot of stones, looks like the vineyards
of Chateauneuf du Pape I went to yesterday. I saw he spent a lot of efforts to the vineyards.
By the way, Xavier was a typical "WINE OTAKU"means a very-very wine crazy
in Japanese.
We had to try many blind wine tasting at the nice & cool restaurants in
Carcasonne we went for dinner.
I knew the high quality of Tortoise Creeks have been kept a kind of people who
had a strong passion for wine.
Anyway, It was a very long day today for me.
