Jul. 14
It was the second day in Yamanashi.
In the morning, it was cold at Sagashio Onsen.
It was a holiday but I went to some wineries because I was in Yamanashi.
At first, I visited to Katsunuma Winery in Katsunuma with no an appointment.
I saw beautiful morning vineyards from the terrace of the winery.
I took a picture with Mieko-san, Jun-san, the madam & a son of the family, and Shimura-san, the sales manager.
Thank you very much!
Then I visited to MGVs Winery in Katsunuma with no an appointment.
Mr. Matsuzaka, the owner of the winery welcomed me.
Accidently, we had a business meeting even though it was a day-off for me.
He showed me his old vineyards near the cellar.
He tried a lot of new methods as like as the newest winery in Yamanashi.
The first red wine of the winery will be soon released.
I am looking forward to receive it.
Thank you very much!
I had a nice vegetable pasta lunch in Enzan.
Then I visited to Gomi Winery at the first time.
I took an appointment here because it was the first visit.
Mr. Kondo, the director & winemaker, welcomed me.
He worked at some major winery for long time.
Then he was headhunted this old family winery two years ago.
He produces about 30,000 bottles of fine wine from their 2 ha estate vineyards and from some local grape growers
He showed me their estate single vineyard named “Komasono”.
It was a so beautiful vineyard.
The oldest Koshu vines are 80 year old.
He very well organizes the vineyard.
He also grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Syrah.
We had a talking about wine at the guest room.
I felt his great passion for wine making.
I saw a very old cellar.
The building is old but the facilities are very modern.
I saw a lot of expensive oak casks.
We have started deal Gomi Wine recently.
I wanted to recommend the wine for all Japan wine lovers.
Thank you very much for Kondo-san.
Then I visited to Kizan Wine in Enzan with no an appoint ment.
Fortunately, Mr & Mrs. Tsuchiya were there.
Kizan is a very small but outstandingly fine winery.
I talked about a lot of wine topics recently for a long time.
I love to have talking with Tsuchiya-san.
Thank you very much!
I spent all my time in Yamanashi for the winery visit today at last.
It was a great time.
After I came back home, I had nice sashimi that I couldn’t eat in Yamanashi.
I tasted some Bordeaux white and red I couldn’t taste in Yamanashi.
