It was a day-off.
I visited to Jokeiji Temple near my home.
There were a lot of hydrangeas in full bloom.
It was so beautiful.
Then I cooked dinner, Temaki-Sushi.
It was so delicious.
1st Mashino Winery Chardonnay 2015 1944 yen
I bought this at the wine shop in Iida last week on my business trip.
It is made from 100% Chardonnay grown in Mashio in South Nagano.
The vineyards are located at altitude 700m.
I felt very clean fruits, nice citrus and good minerals.
It was not concentrated but elegant.
I think the winery has a big potential in the future.
2nd Obuse Winery Sogga Pere & Fils Cabernet Sauvignon Ordinaire 2014
It is a really outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon, isn’t it?
It is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Takayama in North Nagano.
It has a beautiful red-purple color, rich-sweet fruits, very elegant tannin.
It is a very deep and cool Cabernet Sauvignon.
I am sure that it is one of the top class Cabernet Sauvignon in Japan wines.
Also the price is ultra-super reasonable.
I wanted to buy all our stock but it was already out of stock.
3rd Kusunoki Winery Chardonnay Cask Matured 2013
I went back to the white wine.
I bought this at some wine shop in Nagano before.
Kushunoki is a very small private winery in North Nagano.
Well…… I lost words.
What a fabulous Chardonnay is this!
I would say it was some of fine Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru if I tasted by blind.
I felt super rich fruits, very fine cask nuance, truly complex acidity and a long, long after taste.
We have such outstanding Chardonnay in Japan, haven’t we?
Today, I tasted very fine Nagano Wine!!
I was so happy!!!
