No Wine Day
Sep. 25
I organized a winery tour for Machida Medical Association as same as last year.
I took many wine lover doctors to Yamanashi by bus.
At first, we made a brief stop at Nirasaki Omura Museum.
The museum is donated by Dr. Oumra, who is a Nobel laureate.
We enjoyed very nice arts and a fantastic mountain view.
We took a fine lunch at King’s Well, a very fine restaurant in Futaba.
We enjoyed very fine dishes.
I chose bottles of wine, Suntory Japan Premium Koshu and Muscat Bailey-A.
They were very good for the dishes.
After lunch, we went to Suntory Tomi-no-Oka Vineyards and Winery.
At first we saw a big wine cellar built 70 years ago.
All of the doctors were surprised at seeing a lot of casks and bottles sleeping there.
Then we saw extensive-beautiful vineyards.
On the top hill of the vineyards, we saw a magnificent view included Mt. Fuji.
Finally, we tried to taste fine wines by the glass.
They were so nice.
Especially, we were moved a lot by an outstanding quality of Tomi Noble D’Or 2006, which is a very rare Japanese “ la pourriture noble” only 250 bottles produced.
After Tomi Winery, we moved to Enzan and visited to Kisvin Winery.
They produced not only wine but also very fine table grapes.
We tried to taste a lot of grapes.
They were really delicious!
At last we bought a lot of grapes and wines.
It was a very nice winery tour.
Thank you very much!
