Feb. 3

It’s Setsubun.

I’m the type of person who wants to do seasonal events properly, so my sister and I threw beans together in the evening.

The shout of our bean rolling is “Fukuha~Uchi! and “Fukuha~Soto!

It means that may I be happy at home and outside my home.

I think that if you think that only you should be happy and the outside world will be unhappy, true happiness will not come.

Isn’t it only when there is happiness in the outside world that happiness will come to our home?

Today’s dish

Ehomaki

Kiritanpo hot pot

As usual, from the day before, I boiled down the chicken bones and took a rich soup.

Today’s Wine

Chase the Grape Chill Red 2022 2,800 yen

A red wine blended with Muscat Bailey-A and Merlot from Yamanashi Prefecture.

I’m always worried about which wine to pair with Kiritanpo pot.

I remembered that I had heard that this wine goes well with “Hoto hot pot” before, so I chose it from the cellar.

Both are the local cuisine of Akita and local cuisine of Yamanashi.

Although they are far apart, but both are local dishes.

So, in conclusion, it was perfect.

The slightly earthy Chill Red nuance goes really well with the aroma of burdock and the rich broth of the local chicken.

I drank a bottle in no time.

Come to think of it, I remembered that last year’s Setsubun was a pain in my stomach because I ate too many beans and had a stomach ache in the middle of the night.

This year, I kept the beans sparing.
