The weather in Tokyo continues to be good in the new year.
But I was surprised by the snow late on the night of the 2nd.
Today’s dish
Herring and Hokke rice sushi

For rice sushi, it’s Japan sake.
I chose Niigata’s Hakuryu Dry produced by my friend Mr. Shirai.
A light and pure drink that is typical of Niigata.
You can also feel the goodness of the rice.
It goes really well with rice sushi.
I think the quality of Hakuryu has improved with each passing year in recent years.

Today’s Wine

Pangolin Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 1300 yen
After the delicious Japan sake, I wanted to drink a solid red wine, so I opened a Cabernet from South Africa.
It has mellow fruits flavor, firm tannins, and a thick mouthfeel, but the aftertaste is clean.
The alcohol content is also mild at 13.5%.
It is an elegant and well-balanced wine that is not too strong.
