“Respect for the Aged Day”

Sep. 15

Today is “Respect for the Aged Day”.

Respect for the Aged Day was a day to honor the elderly, but now that I am an elderly person, I am in a position to be respected.

Now, is there anyone who respects me?

Today’s dish is an “izakaya” menu.

Edamame

Cold Tofu

Aji and Iwashi Sashimi

Chicken Liver stewed in red wine

Sanma

This year’s sanma is really big and fatty.

This is 240 yen per fish.

In this era of high prices, it is like a savior.

Today’s Wine

Hamada Vineyard Bacchus 2020

I wanted to drink some fine wine to celebrate Respect for the Aged Day, so I opened Mr. Hamada’s Bacchus in Hokkaido.

Bacchus is often made sweetly, but this one is clean and dry.

It still has a pure taste with a strong sense of transparency.

I feel a trace amount of foam.

Has the MLF progressed in the bottle?

It has been aged for nearly 5 years, but it is still full of fresh fruit flavors.

The slight bubbles are also nice.

Immediately after uncorking, it had a light and dry mouthfeel, but as I drank it, I began to feel the volume of the fruits.

Good wine. It seemed that there was still potential for aging.

It also went well with sanma.
