Chateau Fongrave is a small winery in the Saint-Macaire in the upper reaches of the Bordeaux-Gironde River.
I have known the owner of the winery, François, since my previous job as a liquor retailer, so I have known him for more than 30 years.
The owner does the field work himself, almost in one operation.
Viticulture is thoroughly sustainable.
It seems that they are strictly controlled than general organic certification.
This is a rare Semillon 100% dry wine.
I felt a thick-plump fruits, mild acidity and subtle minerality.
It is a pure wine full of transparency without cloudiness.
It’s delicious.
It was perfect for grilling red snapper.
