No Wine Day
Mar. 22
The temperature soared. It’s a sunny Saturday.
It’s almost the end of the hot pot season.
I thought I had to use up all the chicken stock I had stored in the freezer, so I made a chicken pot today.
Chicken thighs, Chicken dumplings, Tofu, Kuzukiri, Maitake-mushrooms, Siitake-mushrooms, Burdock, Bean-seedlings, Chrysanthemums, Negi, Raw oysters
The chicken broth was well prepared and very tasty.
Wine of the Day
Chase the Grape Identity 2024 4,200 yen
This is the sixth vintage of Chardonnay-based white wine by Dai Naito, a “traveling winemaker” in search of grapes.
81% Chardonnay, 12% Siegarrebe, 5% Aligote, and 2% Müller Tourgar grown by Takashi Yano of SOL CARAVAN, a viticulturist in Yamanashi, are transported to Nara Prefecture and produced at Kitani Wine, which is an up-and-coming winery that is currently attracting attention.
It was fermented with wild yeasts and macerated without the addition of sulfurous acid.
I felt thick fruits flavor, wide acidity, mild but strong minerality.
You can clearly feel the elegance of Chardonnay and the sweet aromas and flavors of Siegarrebe.
Well, it’s a wine made by my own son, so I hope you can discount it and listen to it, but I think it’s pretty good.
The Albarino released last year was also good, but I think this one is just as delicious.
It is scheduled to be released in early April. Yes, I have to sell it.
Production volume: 384 bottles. Well, I hope it will be manageable.
Oh, yes, it went very well with today’s chicken pot.
