Dec. 30
There is only one day left in the year.
Today I cleaned the kitchen and bath.
Today’s Dish
Salad with Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Strawberries, Broccoli and Tangerines
Grilled Salmon with Tartar Sauce
Porridge with Chicken and Mushrooms
The porridge was made with the leftover soup from yesterday’s Kiritampo.
It was delicious.
1st Marquis de Beau Rond Sauvignon Blanc 2022 1,080 yen
This is the last Marquis de Beau Rond of the year.
The current vintage is 2023, but this is the 2022 vintage.
Well, this one has a calmer taste and may be more delicious.
The Marquis de Beau Rond matures beautifully.
2nd Marquis de Beau Rond Merlot 2023 1,080 yen
The red is also the last Marquis de Beau Rond of the year.
Again, this Merlot is really ordinarily delicious.
It has a great balance.
I think it’s the perfect home drinking wine.
Dec. 31
I always write this diary the next day, but New Year’s Eve is the only day I close out the year, so I try to write on that day.
At the beginning of this year, I learned that daimajo’s illness was progressive supranuclear palsy, an incurable disease that affects one in 20,000 people, and I became more and more busy caring for her every day.
My first grandchild, Jin, was born, and I began to receive old-age pensions, and I became a magnificent grandfather in both name and reality.
It’s been a year of joy, anger and sorrow, but it looks like we’ll be able to get through the year.
Now that I have quit New Year’s cards, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for the past year.
Thank you very much for your support this year.
Thank you so much to everyone who is reading this meager diary.
Our New Year’s Eve dinner is decided to be “Sukiyaki”.
I haven’t decided yet what wine to drink.
I wish you all a happy new year.
