Nov. 7
Tonight, I welcomed some guest and had a Sukiyaki wine party.
The appetizer was Hedai sashimi from Sagami Bay.
It has a mellow and fatty yet elegant taste that is not sticky. It doesn’t smell like the sea at all and it’s delicious.
Also, the usual Japanese black beef was delicious.
1st Hamada Vineyard Bacchus 2020
Hamada Vineyard in Mikasa, Hokkaido.
It is Bacchus grown without pesticides in the estate vineyard.
I is a fluffy, gentle and gorgeous white wine.
It has an excellent balance of fruitiness, acidity and minerality.
Personally, I think it’s the best Bacchus in Japan.
2nd Domaine Beau Hineri Orange 2023
Domaine Beau is established in 2018 in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture.
On a vast land called Tachinohara, viticulture and winemaking are carried out.
This is an orange wine fermented by maceration method with Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer and others grown in the estate vineyards.
I felt big fruits flavor, cool acidity and slight bitterness and astringency from the grape skin and seeds.
Well, it’s delicious. It is a good orange wine, I think.
Domaine Beau in Toyama has increased again with a variety of wineries to look forward to.
3rd Kusuda Wines Pinot Noir 2020
It is a Pinot Noir made by Mr. Kusuda in Martinborough, New Zealand.
Today’s guest brought this one.
It is one of the most difficult New Zealand wines to buy in Japan.
It’s been a long time since I’ve drunk Kusuda’s wine.
The last time I drank it was probably more than 15 years ago.
Which one..
Oh! The rich aroma of red Pinot Noir boils violently, and the flavor of the fruits is very powerful in the mouth.
Hmmm, isn’t it a common “Kebai” type in New Zealand and Oregon?
I thought it was evil, but it was a mess.
After a while, a calm and soft expression appears, a comfort like the height of elegance.
I am so sorry.
Ahh After all, it’s amazing, Mr. Kusuda.
Without a doubt, it’s a great Pinot Noir.
