Roppo Wine Tumbler

Mar. 4

It was the second day in Yamanashi.

After I enjoyed taking Onsen bath very much, I drove down on the mountain.

By the way, I saw a famous slip on a fault, which I had learned my student days.

After a long drive, I arrived at Roppo Gallery in Yamanashi.

It is the pottery of Koshu Wine Tumbler, a blend new pottery tumbler for drinking Koshu wine.

Because I have become a sales agent of the tumbler, I wanted to see the pottery.

Mr. Tamura, the owner & potter, welcomed me and guided the pottery.

There were a lot of beautiful pottery wares at the gallery.

Then I visited to Soleil Winery in Yamanashi, a very small garage winery.

Mr. & Mrs. Suzuki received me.

They kindly offered me a special tasting.

I tried to taste Pinot Noir 2014 and Hikumo Rouge 2014 before released.

Pinot Noir was very elegant and charming.
Even the color and body was light, I felt a lot of red berries and very comfortable after taste.

Hikumo Rouge is made from Merlot and Syrah grown in Yamanashi.
I felt very dense fruits, some spicy touch and silky tannins.
I was sure that they were really fine and unique style of Japanese fine reds.

I was impressed in the growth of Sokeil Winery.

Thank you very much!
