Feb. 27
I was invited to a private wine tasting dinner at Domenia D’oro in Minami-Aoyama.
The theme today was “Damijan Podversic”, which is a natural wine producer in Friuli Italy.
I didn’t know the winery.
On inquiry, I found it was one of the followers of Josuko Gravner, a popular natural wine producer in Friuli.
Wine List
Damijan Bianco Kaplia 2010
Damijan Bianco Kaplia 2009
Damijan Bianco Kaplia 2006
Damian Malvasia 2010
Damian Nekaj 2010
Damian Ribolla Gialla 2010
Before the tasting, I was wondering if it was drinkable especially vintage 2006 because they were “No Sulfur” wines.
However, I was surprised that all of them were drinkable, very tasty!
The color of 2006 was dark.
The taste was like a very fine Marsala or Sherry without some strong taste.
All of vintage 2010 bottles has gold color, rich fruits, dark honey, good acidity and long after.
I didn’t feel any alcoholic nuance even they had 15% alcohol.
Tasty!
Especially, Ribolla Gialla was the best wine for me.
I was wrong.
They were wonderful natural wine.
All of dishes were also very nice!
I was educated a lot.
I was impressed in a potential of natural wine in Friuli.
Thank you very much for inviting tonight such a fine wine party.
