No Wine Day

Aug. 22

Hot.

Sudden Heavy Rain.

Sultry.

I cooked Sukiyaki today.

I had Tokachi beef from Hokkaido.

It was lean, soft and very delicious.

1st La Croix Gratiot Rose 2021  1,700 yen

This rose wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah harvested in the estate vineyards near the Mediterranean.

I felt charming red fruit flavor, refreshing acid and solid minerality.

The opposite quality of the mass-produced bland rose common in Languedoc.

All of La Croix Gratiot’s wines from the 2021 vintage have been certified by Biologique.

Well, originally, the winery has been using organic farming methods to grow grapes.

2nd Belle du Sud Pinot Noir 2021  1,078 yen

I wanted to drink Pinot Noir to go with Sukiyaki, so I chose this Belle du Sud from Languedoc.

I felt berry-based fruit flavor reminiscent of strawberries, elegant acid, and a smooth mouthfeel.

There were the all tastes that I want Pinot Noir to have, and there is no taste that I don’t want Pinot Noir to have.

Good wine. It is delicious.

It went well with Sukiyaki.
