Visit Yamanashi

Mar. 28

I had one-day trip to Yamanashi with Dai NAITO, who is my son and an intern winemaker.

We visited to Marusan Winery in Katsunuma.

We checked some 2021 vintage wine in the tank.

The purpose of the trip is that.

The wine is made from mainly Koshu with a little Muscat Bailey-A and Chardonnay grown in Yamanashi.

The grapes were fermented by wild yeast without sulfur and macerated with grape skins and seeds.

Dai NAITO produced this “Orange Wine” named Chase the Grape Field Brand Yamanashi.

I checked the tank sample, too.

I felt rich fruits, clear acidity and good minerals.

I think it is a good wine, a very good wine.

Only 900 bottles of Chase the Grape Field Brand Yamanashi will be released in May from Relax Wine.

Please expect it.

Then we moved to Manns Wines in Katsunuma.

We looked on the new reception house and tasted wine by the glass.

Then we went to Nitta Shoten, which is a very popular wine shop as Yamanashi Wine expert.

On the way to the shop, I saw beautiful mountains and cherry blossoms.

I bought many Yamanashi Wine here.

Thank you very much for Nitta-san.

Finally, we visited to Kizan Wine, a very popular “boutique” winery in Enzan.

I met Mr. & Mrs. Tsuchiya, the owner & winemaker, at the first time in these two years.

We had a lot of catching up talks each other.

It was so nice visit!

On the way to home, we had a nice dinner at some Italian restaurant in Machida.

I think we did a very good job!!
