I had a one night-two days trip to Yamanashi.

 

 

 

 

At first, I had a nice local foods lunch.

Very good!

 

 

Then I visited to Marusan Winery in Katsunuma.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have been producing some original cuvee of Relax Wine in this season at the winery.

 

 

 

 

 

We checked the tank.

 

 

 

 

 

The wine is growing very well.

 

 

 

 

It is made from Koshu, MBA and Chardonnay grown in Yamanashi with wild yeasts.

 

 

 

 

 

It will be released in the next spring.

Please expect this one.

 

 

 

 

Then I visited to Haramo Wine with no appointment.

 

 

 

Unfortunately, Mr. Furuya was out of the winery.

 

 

 

 

In the evening, I organized a small wine party at Sunking Café in Katsunuma.

 

 

 

 

Some grape grower, winemaker and wine shop owner in local gathered. 

 

 

 

 

We enjoyed very much nice local wines, foods and talking very much.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, we could have such nice opportunity.

My best wine today.

Katsunuma Winery MATO 2020

It is made from 100% Koshu grown in Mato Katsunuma.

It is fermented by wild yeasts without sugar and macerated as same as red wine.

It is a kind of Koshu Orange wine.

The style is very unique.

Even though the alcohol degree is only 8.5%, I felt a rich body.

I also felt the natural fruits, good acidity and very light tannin.

The style is different from all of the Koshu wine I have ever tasted.

I like this one very much.
