After I came home from Kansai, the new shoots of Cabernet in my garden became young leaves.

1st Marusan Wine Koshu Hyaku 2019  1,540 yen

Marusan Wine is one of the oldest wineries in Yamanashi.

It is made from 100% Koshu grown in Katsunuma Yamanashi.

I like this one very much.

I felt very ripe grapes, fresh acidity, a slight tannin and fine minerals.

It is a very simple Koshu wine but very nice.

I didn’t feel any bad tastes.

It is a really pure and natural Koshu wine.

2nd Marusan Wine Bailey-A Hyaku 2018  1430 yen

Muscat Bailey-A has some sweet aroma and flavor because of Labrusca grape.

Many winemaker don’t want to show the sweet nuance in their wine.

However, Mr. Wakao, who is the owner, grape grower and wine maker of the winery, says, “I want to show the character of the grape.”

Well, I felt some sweet nuance but also felt pure fruits, nice acidity, light tannin and comfortable after taste.

The balance of the wine is outstanding.

I think it is one of the best Muscat Bailey-A wines.

Question, why the price is so cheap?
