I joined in an online wine seminar organized by Government of Western Australia.
I studied about wine of Margaret Liver and Swan Valley in Western Australia.
I don’t have the knowledge of there so much.
The facilitator was Mr. Wataru Iwata, who is one of the top sommeliers in Japan.
It was a very nice event.
I studied a lot.
1st River Bank Estate Rebellious Chenin Blanc 2019
I tasted this white wine at the online seminar today.
I had received it by Takkyu-Bin before.
It is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grown in the estate vineyards in Swan Valley in Western Australia.
It is not imported in Japan yet but it is a very popular wine for wine connoisseur in Australia recently.
It is very, very delicious.
What a delicious Chenin Blanc is this!
I love the pure fruits, beautiful citrus, very fine minerals.
I felt slight tannin thanks of thick skin of the grape.
Even though the low alcohol, 11.7%, it has a tremendous good body.
What a elegant-delicious wine is this!
2nd Blind Corner Cabernet 2018 3,600 yen + tax
I tasted this red wine at the online wine seminar today, too.
It is already imported in Japan by GRN.
It is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the estate winery in Margaret Liver by organic and biodynamic method.
It is an amazingly elegant wine, too.
The color is very clear and taste is very delicate.
I felt charming red and black berries, beautiful acidity, elegant tannin and comfortable-fruity mouthfeel.
I also felt some very good herb nuance.
Mr. Iwata explained it is savory.
I also felt very slight heat nuance.
I knew it on the seminar that this one used 10% “Passito” grapes, which is dried by sun and become like a reason.
Well, today’s too bottles are outstanding.
I enjoyed and studied very much.
Usually, I drink up such delicious wines very quickly.
But I must cut down my wine because I must take a re-health check for my liver.
I resisted to drink up.
Mmmmm…
