No Wine Day
May 12
I took holidays and went to Shimane, where is located in west end of Honshu island.
I wake up very early morning and took the first flight to Izumo Airport.
After arrived at Shimane, I went to Izumo Shrine, one of the biggest and oldest shrine in Japan.
Then I had “Izumo Soba” , which is a popular local food.
After lunch, I went to Okuizumo Vineyard, which is a very fine small winery.
I think they produce the best wine in West Japan.
I have wanted to visit here for long time.
Mr. Abe, who is the general manager & chief winemaker of the winery, received me.
He guided me to the vineyards at first.
They have 3ha estate vineyards and grow mainly Chardonnay and Shokoshi.
What a well-organized vineyard is this!
Then I saw the wine cellar.
It is a small cellar but very well organized, too.
I saw a lot of modern facilities.
They also have a nice wine restaurant.
It was the first time we had met each other.
However, because we have many same wine friends, we had a great conversation.
Okuizumo Winery produces very fine wine but it is very difficult to found because the production volume is very small.
Thanks to good luck and good time today, Mr. Abe gave me some allocation of his wine to Cave de Relax!
We will soon receive Okuizumo Wine!
Thank you very, very, very much for Abe-san!
It was a great meeting you!
After the visit, I moved to Matsue city.
I saw a great sun set at Lake Shinji in Matsue by tasting Okuizumo Chardonnay.
“How beautiful is this!”
Finally, I enjoyed a lot of fresh and delicious seafood.
It was an amazing day today.
Very good job!
