I joined to an unveil tour of Casa Norabona – Vineyards Tama in Akikawa Tokyo.
It will be opening soon as the first winery in Tama Tokyo.
Mr. Numata, the winemaker of the winery, invited us, who are old wine friends of mine.
The winery located near Akikawa I.C. of Ken-O Freeway and Tokyo Summer Land.
We were surprised at seeing the new and excellent facilities at the cellar.
It will working soon with the new grapes in this year.
Then we moved to the vineyard near by the cellar.
We were surprised at seeing the very well-organized vines, too.
They grow Yama-Sauvignon, which is the Japanese hybrid grape born from Cabernet Sauvignon and Yamabudo.
I tasted a grape and was surprised again at the sweet taste.
I am really looking forward to tasting the wine made from the grapes.
Casa Norabona will produce their first vintage by the grapes from estate vineyards and some grapes from the other farmers.
Then we moved to Tate a Tate, a French restaurant near the winery, and had a nice wine dinner.
We brought one bottle of our recommend wines to the restaurant.
We enjoyed very nice dishes, very fine wines and very nice talking.
It was a wonderful night.
Thank you very much for Mr. Numata.
Very good job!
